Overview

Stop to think about the cost of an accident — the physical and emotional pain as well as the financial impact. Your doctor and medical team could help heal your body and mind. But who helps you financially?

Today, take an important step to help protect yourself — with up to $200,000* in accident coverage with AUSA's Mastercare Accidental Death and Dismemberment Insurance Plan. This money can be used as your family sees fit … for education, day-to-day living expenses, medical bills, or final expenses resulting from a covered accident. CASH benefits to help your family through tough times.

You're protected from many types of accidents — auto accidents, falls, fires, drowning, head or back injuries. Consider this: Every four minutes an American dies in an accident1. It can happen so easily. You lose your footing. Trip on a step.

Your AUSA accident insurance goes wherever you go. It will help protect you with up to $200,000 in coverage 24-hours-a-day, worldwide. Home — or covered work-related accidents. Accidents on vacations or in the privacy of your backyard. Plane or train crashes. Car or boat accidents.

Up to $200,000 paid in addition to your other insurance.

You simply can't have too much coverage when an accident happens. Loss of wages, medical, trauma center, and final expenses may add up in a hurry.

And AUSA benefits are affordable because you take advantage of AUSA's group rates. Spouse and dependent coverage may be elected at a percentage of the member's coverage amount.

Eligibility & Effective Date
As an AUSA member under age 70, you are not required to have a physical exam or answer any health questions. Your spouse under age 70 and your unmarried dependent children under age 19 (23 if full-time students) are also eligible for coverage at a percentage of your elected coverage amount. Coverage will become effective upon the first day of the month following receipt of your Enrollment Form and premium payment.

ADDITIONAL Benefits for college!

Education is a valuable legacy for your family. That's why the AUSA Mastercare Plan provides education benefits for your spouse and children.

Spouse Education Benefit:

If you have family coverage, your spouse will collect up to an additional $4,000 at the time of your death, provided she/he is not employed full-time and will use the benefits as payment of tuition to any institution of higher learning or vocational training that could specifically qualify your spouse to gain employment in a new occupation. Spouse tuition expenses must be incurred within 30 months of the accident.

Dependent Education Benefit:

Your covered dependent children are also eligible for up to $1,500 per year in education benefits. They must be enrolled at an accredited institution of higher learning within 365 days after the date of your death. This benefit is payable for a maximum of four years.

Civil Aircraft Benefit:
If you are the pilot or crew member of a civil aircraft, you are covered for 25% of your principal benefit amount. You must have logged a minimum of 1,000 hours as a pilot and hold a valid certificate of competency or a rating authorizing you to pilot the aircraft. Certain other aircraft activities are excluded as specified in the Certificate of Insurance.

Benefits for covered losses will be paid as outlined in the table below. Losses must be incurred within 365 days after the date of the covered accident and no more than the total Principal Sum amount will be paid for all losses due to the same covered accident.
